Wow! It has been a really long time since I blogged last. I haven't been online at all lately. I'm not home much anymore and when I am I am parked in front of the TV, relaxing. This semester has really been stressful so far. But I feel as if things are starting to come together and slow down a little.
A few new things in my life.
- My sister's wedding next weekend.
- Rodney and I are moving back home this summer.
- This is my last semester of classes.
- Trying to find an internship near home.
- One more month til my new nephew is born.
Yeah, thats about it right now. I am really excited to be moving home though. Even though I like it here in Edinboro (being close to Erie and having a lot of different things to do), I really miss my family and friends back home. It is just not the same up here.
Anyways, today I have a poster presentation at EUP for the School of Education. A group of people are coming to evaluate our program and make sure we are meeting standards and I was asked to help out. Luckily the presentation is on a technology tool we use in school to send and receive information from our professors (a glorified email account), and I have worked with it a lot over the last year. Hopefully I will get to eat a lot of good food at the presentation tonight...hehehe.
Well, I guess that is all for now. I just wanted to check in. I haven't really talked with anyone much this semester and now that things are calming down, I remember to.
Later!
Today's weather was great. Too bad I had nothing to do to be out in the sunshine. Mostly I just relaxed and tried to enjoy one of my last free days before classes start. I did take a drive to the post office to mail a book, but other than that I have been cleaning and watching tv all day.
Tomorrow is the first day of my practicum at a local middle school. I am really excited but also nervous. I will be spending 8 hours a week at the school working with the guidance counselors and the kids. Luckily I have already been there twice and have started getting more acquainted with the school and the counselors, so that should help the nervousness alittle.
Rodney has headed back to UPB for a few days, so I am stuck up here by myself. I am probably going to go home next weekend though. Laura and her fiance are coming up this Sunday, so I can help her find a wedding dress. My mom and dad might also drive up for the day on Sunday; I am not sure about that, yet.
Well, I can't think of anything else to type for now. I am bored, can u tell? Well, later everyone.
So, I was up bright and early today to take my Praxis 1 exams. I'm glad they're over! Nothing like sitting in a large auditorium style classroom, with really uncomfortable chairs, for 4 hours. And even though I took three separate tests, the proctors are required to give the same boring instructions for each test. By the time it was over, I was ready to take my turn reciting the directions. I think I did okay but I have to wait "4-6" weeks to find out. If I would have taken the computer version vs. the paper/pencil version I would have received my results immediately, but the computer tests cost about $120 more. So, I took my boat load of no. 2 pencils with me this morning. I actually had a hard time tracking them down because " I NEVER USE THEM!" Anyways, it is over and I am free to relax for the rest of the day. Talk to you all later.
So today I began studying for the Praxis 1 exams I am taking on Saturday. I was actually worried because I have put off studying for so long, but the stuff is actually just basic reading, writing, and math items. I am not saying I am going to ace the exams but I do believe there is little to worry about.
I figured I would put a message in here to update my friends on my life. My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a little boy named Will sometime this coming May. We just found out before New Years that "the baby" is a "he." Also, my sister got engaged right before Christmas and is getting married on April 8th. So I have a lot of quick planning to do, since the wedding is only 3 months away. I am the maid of honor and therefore gain the responsibilities of bridal shower and bachelorette party. I am glad to have these responsibilities but wish I had a little more time to put into planning these events. Other than that my parents are doing well. Rodney and I are also doing well. Our lease is up in May, but we are going to stay here in Edinboro for at least another year after that. We are going to look for other housing possibilities though because we would both like to find a house to rent.
Well, thats all for now. Hi to everyone!
Happy New Year everyone. Hope all is well and that the holidays treated everyone kindly. I am free from school until the 17. Therefore I am just watching tv and relaxing. I really need to blog more often. I haven't even read any blogs in a while. I miss the updates. Until I blog again!
